On January 14th I had a dream come true when I was given the opportunity to perform a few of my favorite routines on Ellen Degeneres’s talk show. She is an amazing person. Her fine qualities are also reflected in the staff and technical crew of her show. I have never felt so “looked after” in my entire career… thanks!

I was googling and found a site where people actually tattoo words of wisdom on themselves. I have always loved this Theodore Isaac Rubin’s saying. ” I must learn to love the fool in me - the one who feels too much, talks to much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laught and cries.” This person loved it so much, they made it a part of themselves …
I found other examples and this story is one I have also always loved and it has helped me many times. To think someone chose to live their lives with it as part of them is beyond my comprehension … but that’s just me.
One night a man had a dream. He dreamt he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints on the sand — one belonging to him and the other to the Lord. When the last scene had flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints and he noticed only one set. He also noticed that this happened during the lowest and saddest times of his life. This bothered him and he questioned the Lord. “Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk all the way with me, but I noticed that during the most troublesome times of my life there was only one set of footprints. I don’t understand why, when I needed you most, you deserted me.”
The Lord replied, “My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, those were the times when I carried you in my arms.”

I also met some wonderful new people in Myrtle Beach. One young lady, Katie Foshee had a tattoo on her foot. A quote from Wicked. She seemed quite surprised I knew the words … but if you know me you know Wicked holds a special place in my heart … keep well, busy and happy … shawn
